BOAT TRIPS
There are a variety of boat trips both locally and in other parts of the island.
Bella JaneThe Bella Jane operates from Elgol jetty, and takes you to a landing station near loch Courisk in the heart of the Cuillins. On the journey you will see seals, perhaps dolphins and the odd minke whale. On arriving at loch Courisk you will have time to walk to the loch and admire the mountains towering above you. More time ashore is negotiable with the boatman. You could walk back to Elgol by way of the 'Bad step' and Camasunary (experienced walkers only) | Seal tripsThere are regular boats sailing from the jetty by Dunvegan castle(every half hour), which will take you to the islands in Dunvegan loch to see the seals, their pups and a noisy heronry. | | Loch CouriskThe loch is a short walk from the Bella Jane landing station. | The 'bad step'This is a picture of a walker on the 'bad step'which is on the path from Camasunary to loch Courisk(you avoid this by taking the boat) | | | | |
